I am the sole creator of each of my oil paintings. All my paintings are my renditions of actual places or interpretations of momentary occurrences in nature. I paint from photographs which I have usually taken. I apply the paint in thin layers until the desired color saturation is achieved . I enjoy using dramatic color, rich and at times intense to relay mood and tone. I am awe inspired by nature and am fascinated by light and color. I aim to portray the simple yet complex beauty that surrounds us. I hope my pieces spurn an association with a moment and or place and that they remind the viewer to not only look, but to see.
I have been painting for roughly seventeen years. I graduated from a dual degree program with Tufts University and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in 1998. |
